Autumn Onion 5K Costume Race
The Autumn Onion 5K Costume Race is a 5 km run through downtown Montpelier, Vermont, held on October 31, 2026. The course starts and finishes outside the shop at 89 Main St. Registration is open in several age categories with fees listed for pre-registration: adults (16+), youth (ages 12-15), kids (ages 6-11), and a free entry for little ones age 5 and under. Online registration closes on October 29, 2026 at 10:00 PM ET. Day of race registration is available beginning one hour before the start. Online waiver completion is mandatory for participants.
ORO Gift cards are awarded to top finishers and to several costume categories. Prize placements for fastest runners include the top three female, top three male, and top three non-binary adult finishers, as well as the top three youth and top three kid finishers. Additional gift card awards include Funniest Costume, Most Creative Costume, Most Vermont-y Costume, Best Kid's Costume, Best Group Costume, and Most Committed to Running in an Uncomfortable Costume.
