Autumn Trail Running at Lake Bastrop
The Autumn Harvest event takes place at Lake Bastrop North Shore and South Shore Parks in Central Texas. The course features a variety of landscapes, including lakeside trails, open skies, and pine forests. Runners navigate through a mix of single-track and wider trail sections with rolling terrain and moderate elevation changes.
Participants can choose from several distance options:
- 12 HR Endurance Run
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
- Half-Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10K
- 5K
The trails are well-marked for both daytime and low-light conditions. For those running during the darker hours, the organizers use reflective trail markers and glow sticks at key intersections. Safety requirements for night running include a mandatory headlamp with fresh batteries, a personal hydration system, and a cell phone for emergency communications.
All finishers receive a custom medal, and multi-event participants are recognized with custom challenge coins. The event is organized in partnership with Healthy Kids Running Series Cedar Park, with proceeds supporting youth running programs. Packet pickup takes place on race day at Lake Bastrop North Shore Park, and parking is available at the venue for participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
