Autism Society of Miami Dade 5K Run/Walk
The Autism Society of Miami Dade 5K Run/Walk is an inaugural event held at Zoo Miami. This family-friendly gathering supports autism awareness, acceptance, and inclusion within the local community. The event offers two primary ways to participate:
- 5K Run/Walk: A chipped timed race on-site at Zoo Miami.
- Virtual 5K Run/Walk: A remote participation option for those unable to attend in person.
The on-site course at Zoo Miami is inclusive and open to participants using strollers or wheelchairs. Every person registered for the event receives entry to the zoo for the remainder of the day. Race Day Professionals provide chip timing services for the 5K, and awards are presented to the top three finishers in various male and female age groups ranging from under 9 to 70 and over.
Participants receive several items as part of their registration, including a bib, a T-shirt, and a finisher medal. The event area features music, entertainment, and booths from local organizations and community vendors providing autism resource information.
