Austin Distance Challenge 2026–2027
The Austin Distance Challenge is a five-race series held across Austin that runs through the 2026–2027 season. Participants choose one of four tracks : Full, Half, Sprint, or Mixed : and complete a sequence of five events to qualify for finisher rewards and series recognition. Distance Challenge registration closes November 1, 2026.
Track options include:
Full track participants complete the longest distance at each race and finish with the Austin Marathon.
Half track participants complete the longest distance at the first four races and finish with the Austin Half Marathon.
Sprint track participants choose shorter distances including several 5K events and a 6.55-mile half-marathon relay leg.
Mixed track participants mix eligible distances and may use virtual options when available.
The series includes event-specific participant pricing for several races and limited-time discounts on select entries. Registered Distance Challenge participants receive access to a DC Tent on race day for rest, snacks, and community meetups, plus limited personal item drop-off at early races. Series swag includes a choice of short-sleeve tee or crop top, a set of collectible magnets, and a DC wristband. Finisher rewards differ by track: Full and Half tracks earn a custom finisher jacket; Sprint and Mixed tracks receive a special edition water bottle. Coaching support is provided by a partner coaching organization. Eligible in-person results count toward a Distance Challenge leaderboard; virtual completions can count toward finishing the series but do not count for leaderboard standings or competitive awards.
