Austerlitz Trail
The Austerlitz Trail starts and finishes at the KNVB Campus in the Staatsbossen near Zeist on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. The event is built around three marked loops, each about 10 km, and participants choose to run one, two or three loops. The date is stated as provisional because of campus availability.
The routes run through mixed forest and open areas, reach the border of the Bornia nature area, and include old lanes, single tracks and some sections with noticeable elevation changes and climbs. All loops are fully waymarked with arrows and tape. The basecamp at the KNVB Campus houses the start area, the finish and the refreshment point.
Practical details from the organiser:
- About 10 km per loop, choose 1, 2 or 3 loops. Feeding is provided after each loop at the start/finish location on the KNVB Campus. There are no disposable cups, so participants must bring their own racecup. A start block of one hour is printed on the ticket; within that hour the first loop may be started. About one week before the event participants receive an email with additional information.
A pop-up Trailrunning Shop will be present on the day, and a commemorative medal with deer imagery can be ordered as an extra item; medals are not included with a standard ticket. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
