ATW Remembrance Runs : event overview
ATW stages the Remembrance Runs at Debden Airfield, Carver Barracks, in Essex on Remembrance weekend in November. The site is the disused former World War Two airfield and the races use flat, traffic free concrete grounds.
Participants may enter one of the following distances:
- Half marathon
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 1 mile family mile
Races are described as traffic free and laid out on a wide, flat course. On course music is provided. Children under eight years require their own ticket and must be accompanied by a paying adult. Event services include custom designed medals, free event photos, finish line snacks and post race goodies. Ample parking is available at the venue for a £3 charge.
The organiser offers a transfer option up to 48 hours before the event for those unable to attend a booked entry. The event has supported charitable fundraising and lists opportunities to donate or fundraise at checkout. Reviews from previous editions note flat fast circuits, easy parking, friendly marshals and a well marked route. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
