ATW Grafham Duathlon
The ATW Grafham Duathlon takes place at the Grafham Water Visitor Centre in Huntingdon. This multisport event offers two different distances for participants to choose from:
- Standard Duathlon: Run 10 km, Cycle 38 km, and Run 5 km.
- Sprint Duathlon: Run 5 km, Cycle 17 km, and Run 2.5 km.
The first leg of the race consists of a running course on a 2.5 km lap. This route takes participants across the Grafham Water dam wall, providing views of the surrounding reservoir. The run course loops back near the finish area, allowing for spectator support throughout the segment.
The cycling portion is an out-and-back route moving towards St Neots. The course is designed with minimal turns. For the Sprint distance, participants turn back at the village of Perry. These races are categorized as draft-illegal. British Triathlon Motor Officials are present on-site to monitor the course for safety and compliance with regulations.
The venue provides visitor facilities and the option to camp the night before the race through Lakeview Paddock. Car parking is available at the Visitor Centre, though fees are payable to Anglian Water. The event supports Alzheimers Research UK, and participants can choose to donate or fundraise during the entry process. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
