About the race
Active Training World (ATW) stages the ATW Box End Triathlon at Box End Lakes, Box End Rd, Bedford MK43 8RN. The event takes place on a lake with clear water and a scenic on-site run route. It is organised by a national events company that runs triathlon and multisport events.
Distances offered:
- Sprint: 750 m swim, 26 km bike, 5 km run
- Standard: 1500 m swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run
- Centurion: 2250 m swim, 80 km bike, 20 km run
The event includes Aquabike entries and relay teams of 2-3 participants. The race is non-draft legal and uses a multi-lap course suitable for spectators. Camping is available at Box End Park for participants who wish to stay on site.
Entry categories include a Female category for athletes assigned female at birth and an Open category for all other athletes. There are no applicable cutoffs for the Sprint and Standard distances when they run alongside the 100 km Centurion event. Typical finish ranges noted by the organiser are: Sprint winners around 1 hour 15 minutes and last finishers around 3 hours; Standard winners around 2 hours 20 minutes and last finishers around 4 hours 45 minutes.
ATW’s transfer policy allows transfers to future ATW events up to 48 hours before the event. The event provides marshals, course marking, event photos, a custom medal and finish line refreshments. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
