About the race
The ATSU Founders Day Race is an event on October 17, 2026 in Kirksville, Missouri, that marks the foundation of A.T. Still University and raises funds for the Kirksville Preferred Merchants Scholarship. The scholarship supports students from Northeast Missouri who demonstrate academic performance, leadership, and potential in health care careers.
Participants meet and finish at the Thompson Campus Center, 210 S. Osteopathy Street, Kirksville, MO 63501. The event offers multiple course options:
- 3.25 Miles 5K run
- 1.2 Miles 2K race walk
Registration opens July 1, 2026 and closes October 15, 2026. The registration fee is $20.00.
All in-person participants receive a race shirt, post race refreshments, and entry for door prizes. Awards for the 5K include medals for the top three runners in gender and age divisions and plaques for first overall man and woman. The 2K first overall participant will receive a plaque. After the event, a soft tissue massage will be available from the SAAO Stretch Clinic to support muscle recovery and relaxation.
