Atlanta Lab Rescue 5K
The Atlanta Lab Rescue 5K is an annual fundraising event supporting the rescue and rehoming of Labrador Retrievers and large breed mixes. Held at Shirley Clarke Franklin Park, formerly known as Westside Park, in Atlanta, Georgia, the event features a course of approximately 3.1 miles. Participants can choose between an in-person race or a virtual run.
The in-person event is dog-friendly, though retractable leashes are not permitted on the course. Each participant in the timed race receives a race bib equipped with a timing chip. Professional timing services are provided to record results for all runners. The registration fee for the event includes a long-sleeve t-shirt, which is mailed to virtual participants during the week of the race.
Available distances:
- 3.1 miles (In-person)
- 3.1 miles (Virtual)
Following the completion of the physical race, an awards ceremony is held to recognize top performers. Awards are presented to the overall male and female winners, as well as the top masters male and female participants. Additionally, the event recognizes the top three male and female finishers in various age categories, ranging from ages 10 and under to 70 and over. Early packet pickup is coordinated at a local running store in Marietta prior to the race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
