Ashland Balloonfest 5K : Freer Field, Ashland, OH
The Ashland Balloonfest 5K is a timed community road race held at Freer Field, 1301 Park St, Ashland, OH 44805. The event is organized by the Ashland Cross Country Parents Organization and is the 31st running of the 5K. Proceeds benefit Ashland High School and Ashland Middle School cross country teams.
The program includes:
- 5K road race
- Kids Fun Run for children 12 and under, free with online registration May 1 through June 24; same day registration is also available
Mid Ohio Race Management provides chip timing so each participant’s time starts when their feet cross the starting line. Roads along the course will be blocked with volunteers stationed at roadblocks and local police present for additional safety. Portable restrooms will be available. Parking is available on public side streets near the start; parking is not available in the small side lot on Freer Field.
Registration pricing is generally $30 for the 5K with a t-shirt guaranteed for registrations completed by June 10. Later registrations remain $30 but are not guaranteed a t-shirt. Race packets may be picked up Thursday, June 25 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Spreng Smith Insurance Agency, 320 College Avenue, Ashland, OH, or on the morning of the event near the race start from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM.
