ALDI Ashby 20
The ALDI Ashby 20 is a 20-mile road race held in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire. The event takes place on an undulating 20-mile scenic route consisting of two laps, primarily on closed roads. This race is conducted under UK Athletic rules and holds a UKA license.
The event is open to runners aged 18 and over, with a maximum capacity of 1,500 participants. The course is not suitable for wheelchairs. Earphones are prohibited, with the exception of bone-conducting headphones and medically prescribed hearing devices. Visually impaired runners requiring a guide can access a free entry for their guide runner after securing their own place.
The race follows a strict time limit to ensure roads are reopened according to local permits. There are two designated cut-off points:
- 10 miles: Runners must reach this point within 2 hours and 20 minutes (gun time).
- 15 miles: Runners must reach this point within 3 hours and 30 minutes (gun time).
Participants who do not meet these times will be withdrawn from the race. Facilities include pre-race toilets and changing areas at the nearby Ashby Leisure Centre and Lido. A secure bag drop is located at the finish area in the Bath Grounds; however, no bag storage is available at the Leisure Centre. All finishers receive a hoodie and a goody bag.
