Thanksgiving Day Classic
The Thanksgiving Day Classic is a set of road races held at the Peoria Sports Complex in Peoria, Arizona. The event includes multiple race distances and starts and finishes at the sports complex.
Distances:
- 10 Mile
- 5K
- 1 Mile Fun Run
All finishers receive a custom finisher medal. The event provides a long sleeve technical race shirt included with adult entries in the 5K and 10 Mile and with all 1 Mile participants. Youth shirts are available for an additional fee during registration with reduced pricing for early sign up.
A portion of race proceeds is donated to the Peoria Diamond Club, which provides grants to local charities including Special Olympics Arizona. The organizing group has donated over $68,000 to these charity efforts to date. Unwrapped toys for the Peoria Toy Drive are collected at packet pickup and on race morning.
The 10 Mile and 5K are run on certified courses. Awards for the 5K and 10 Mile include pies for the top three finishers in each age group. There is a course time cutoff in place for participant safety; finishers after the cutoff do not qualify for age group pies. Strollers and baby joggers are allowed but must start at the back of the field for safety. Registration is online only on race day; paper registration is not accepted.
