Around the Bend Five & Ten
Around the Bend Five & Ten takes place in Strawberry Plains, Tennessee on October 3, 2026. The event offers multiple distances and is hosted at First Baptist Church of Strawberry Plains, with courses beginning at the intersection of Old Dandridge Pike and Old Andrew Johnson Hwy and finishing in the east portion of the church parking lot.
Distances
- 10K looped course with less than 250 ft of elevation gain
- 5K out-and-back course with about 150 ft total elevation change
- 1 Mile kids fun run/walk for ages 10 and under
Proceeds support the church’s free community food pantry, The Blessing Box, and a portion is allocated to Tennessee Endurance for local athlete support and scholarships. Registrations include a custom event T-shirt for 5K and 10K entrants; Fun Run registrants may add a shirt for an additional fee. Shirt orders close on September 21, 2026.
Aid stations provide water cups at mile 1 and mile 3. Restrooms are available near the start, finish and registration area; there are no restrooms on the course. Parking is available on the west side of the church lot and at the rear parking areas of Rush Strong School; the east lot will serve as the race finish area. Walkers are encouraged to use the 1 Mile or 5K events. Strollers are permitted only in the 1 Mile event. Pets are not allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
