Event Overview
Around the Beach is a community running and walking event held at Munroe Falls Metro Park. The course consists of a paved path that encircles the lake. Participants in the main running event complete two loops, while those participating in the fun walk complete a single loop. The terrain is described as hilly and includes a short section on a service road.
The event is designed to be accessible, accommodating both strollers and dogs. Participants are provided with a custom technical shirt and a finishers medal. The finish line area features live DJ music and refreshments for participants to enjoy after their activity.
Distance Options
Participants can choose from the following event categories:
- 5k: A timed run consisting of two laps around the lake.
- 1.55 mile Fun Walk: An untimed single lap around the lake.
- Virtual: An option to participate remotely and receive event materials by mail.
Awards and Recognition
The event recognizes participants across various categories. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. Additionally, age group awards are provided for several brackets, ranging from under 10 to 80 and over. The organizers also include team competitions based on specific criteria such as the largest group.
Logistics
The event is located at 521 South River Rd in Munroe Falls. Early packet pick-up is available the day before the event at the main parking lot of the park.
