Arnold 5K Run / Walk, Pump & Run and Ruck - Columbus
The Arnold 5K event takes place as part of the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio at 400 N. High Street. The program includes a standard 5K Run / Walk, the Arnold 5K Pump & Run, and the Arnold Ruck. The Arnold Ruck requires participants to complete the 5K while carrying a weighted vest, ruck sack or equivalent of at least 15 pounds.
The Arnold 5K Pump & Run combines bench press and running. Athletes bench press a percentage of their body weight for up to 30 reps before the 5K; each successful lift reduces the competitor’s 5K time by 30 seconds, to a maximum reduction based on 30 lifts. The Pump & Run is limited to 1,200 athletes and is organized into 10 age and gender divisions. Bench press weight requirements vary by division; men are required to bench press between 60 and 100 percent of their body weight depending on age, and women between 40 and 70 percent. Participants in the Pump & Run must be at least 18 years old on race day.
Registration packages include an official unisex event shirt, finisher’s medal, race bib, free race photos, and a Daily Expo ticket for Sunday valued at $60. Published 2027 fees show tiered pricing for each event and a virtual 5K plus Ruck option that includes packet shipping. The event has a no refund and no bib transfer policy. Strollers are permitted.
