Armstrong County Turkey Trot
The Armstrong County Turkey Trot is an annual community running event organized by Miles of Smiles Timing Service in partnership with the Richard G. Snyder YMCA. It takes place on the Armstrong Trail at the Richard G. Snyder YMCA in Kittanning, PA.
Event formats include in-person and virtual options. Distances offered include:
- 13.1 Miles Half Marathon
- 5K road race
- 100 m Kids Race for ages 10 and younger
- Virtual Half Marathon and Virtual 5K
Features listed for the event include turkey-themed finisher medals for all finishers, a $50 cash prize for overall male and female winners of the Half Marathon, and age-group awards for the Half Marathon and 5K. The course is described as an out and back on the flat Armstrong Trail along the Allegheny River. Water stops are available on course and at the finish line, and food is provided after the races. A technical shirt option is available for an additional $5.
