Armed Forces Day Freedom 5K
The Armed Forces Day Freedom 5K is organized by the East Mississippi Veterans Foundation and takes place on May 16, 2026, in Meridian, Mississippi. All races begin and end at The Grove at Bonita Lakes Park, 1 Bonita Reservoir Rd. Official timing is provided by Time 2 Run Race Timing.

The 5K Run awards include overall male and female winners plus age-group awards for males and females in ranges from 0-10 through 70 and over. The 5K Walk awards include overall male and female winners plus age-group awards covering 0-19 through 60 and over. The Kids Fun Run recognizes the first male and first female finishers.
The Virtual 5K option allows participation during a qualifying period of May 14–16, 2026. Virtual participants submit a photo of their watch time or phone app and provide their name by May 16, 2026; virtual entrants will receive race shirts by mail. Registering early increases the likelihood of receiving a desired shirt size on race day.
Proceeds benefit the East Mississippi Veterans Foundation and the East Mississippi Veterans Park project adjacent to Meridian’s historical Key Field. Local businesses and community organizations are listed as event sponsors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
