Arlington Education Foundation 5K
The Arlington Education Foundation 5K is a community road run that raises funds for projects and system wide initiatives in Arlington Public Schools. The event is organized by the Arlington Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, and welcomes participants of all ages.
The course is a loop that starts and finishes at Hill's Hill Field behind the Ed Burns Arena at 422 Summer Street. Runners follow the Minuteman Bikeway east to Water Street, then proceed onto Massachusetts Avenue and Lowell Street, turn onto Mill Lane which becomes Frazer Lane at the Schwamb Mill, and return to the Minuteman Bikeway to finish back at Hill's Hill Field.
Registration is open to all ages. Early bird pricing is listed at $35 per entrant through April 1; fees increase after that date for most participants. Certain Arlington Community Education programs and school running group members are eligible for a discount. There is no race day registration.
T-shirts are provided for participants 14 years old and younger and for older teens and adults who register before May 1. There is an option to decline a shirt during registration.
Chip timing is provided by a timing company and results are posted and shared with participants. Volunteers are needed to support race operations. Parking is limited on neighboring streets; participants are asked not to block driveways or impede traffic on Overlook. The event will proceed unless extreme weather makes conditions unsafe; there are no refunds for event cancellation due to weather. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
