Event overview
The Annual 5K Run & Walk With The Dogs is organized by the Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) and takes place on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Memorial Park in Beacon, NY. The event is a fundraiser with 100% of proceeds supporting animal rescue and care. Races are professionally timed using chipped running bibs. The event is rain or shine and registration is non-refundable. A post-race celebration will include awards, music, games, face painting, vendor exhibits, and raffles.
Race options and rules
- 5K Run & Walk with the Dogs - leashed dogs permitted, one dog per adult
- 1K Kids Fun Run - open to ages 3 to 10; dogs not permitted
- VIRTUAL 5K Run & Walk with the Dogs
Dogs must be non-aggressive, current on vaccinations, and leashed; retractable and bungee-style leashes are not permitted. Each adult participant may be accompanied by one dog, and participating dogs receive an official event dog tag. Strollers are permitted only on the 5K course. Children under 3 may participate for free in the in-person races.
Fundraising and fees
Minimum fundraising goals: $100 for 1K participants and $200 for 5K and virtual participants. Individuals who meet the minimum by April 30 receive a commemorative item and a refund of the race registration fee. Registration fee tiers are published for the 5K and 1K events.
