Event overview
The Arctic 5k is scheduled for Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Hydaway Outdoor Center in Lynchburg, VA. The race is the 13th annual running of the event and the 4th trail race in the Liberty Mountain Trail Series. The course covers 3.1 miles and is comprised of single-track trail intermixed with some forest roads.
Logistics and awards
Registration price listed for the 5K event is $30; the price increases after February 6, 2026 at 11:59pm EST. Packet pickup is available February 6 at LaHaye Rotunda from Noon to 6:00 P.M., and February 7 at Hydaway from 8:00 to 8:45 A.M. A giveaway t-shirt is guaranteed for registrations completed before January 23; a limited number of extra shirts will be available at packet pickup on a first-come basis.
Awards will be given to the top three male and female overall finishers, the top three male and female in each age group, and the top male and female masters overall (over 40 years). Overall awards are ranked by gun time; age group awards are ranked by chip time. Door prizes will be distributed during the event. Runners who complete all five Liberty Mountain Trail Series 2025-2026 races will receive LMTS finisher awards in April 2026. A referral refund of $20 is offered after three successful referrals.
