Holiday Lake 50K++
The Holiday Lake event in Appomattox, VA offers trail races that use single and double loop routes around Holiday Lake and nearby country roads and trails. The 25k and 50k courses together gain over 2,000 feet of elevation and include aid stations approximately every four miles. Runners start and finish at the Holiday Lake 4H Educational Center. A prerace briefing and a post race lunch are provided at the 4H Center; pizza is offered at the prerace briefing.
Race amenities and logistics include finisher swag for 25k and 50k entrants provided by Rabbit apparel, along with additional shirts and hoodies available at registration and on race day. Awards are presented to all finishers under eight hours. Lodging at the Holiday Lake 4H camp includes heated bunkhouses with capacity for 90 plus bunks at $25 per bunk, twelve unheated cabins with electric at $5 per person, and tent or car camping in the adjacent field for $10. Two hotels in Appomattox are also listed on the event website.
The event also offers a shorter option to broaden participation and three scheduled community training runs in the weeks before the race. Water and snacks are provided at mile eight during training runs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
