The Holiday Lake race day on February 14, 2026 in Appomattox, Virginia offers three distances:

Runners start and finish at the Holiday Lake 4H Educational Center near 1267 4-H Camp Road. The course is a single loop for the 25k and a double loop for the 50k, circling Holiday Lake and using country roads and trails. The 10k follows mostly single-track trail around the lake. The course includes over 2,000 feet of elevation gain. Aid stations are located at approximately four-mile intervals. Weather conditions in mid-February can vary, including the possibility of significant snow.

Logistics, services and history

Lodging is available at the Holiday Lake 4H camp: heated bunkhouses with capacity for more than 90 people (bunks fee $25), 12 unheated cabins with 4-6 bunks each ($5 per person), and tent/car camping in an adjacent field ($5). A sponsor provides custom BOCO items at check-in for 25k and 50k entrants and a long-sleeve sponsor tee at the finish for those distances. The event includes a Friday pre-race briefing with pizza and a post-race lunch. Two training runs are scheduled in January and will meet at the 4H camp; water and snacks are provided at mile 8 on the training loop. The 50k and 25k are part of the Lynchburg Ultra Series.
