Holiday Lake 50K++
The Holiday Lake event in Appomattox, VA, offers trail races on February 13, 2027, organized by Extreme Ultrarunning and based at the Holiday Lake 4H Educational Center. Distances offered include:
- 50K
- 25K
- 10K
The course is a single or double loop circling Holiday Lake and uses country roads and trails. The route includes more than 2,000 feet of elevation gain and has aid stations located at approximately four mile intervals. The 10K route travels mostly single-track trails around the lake and was added in 2022. Awards are presented to all finishers who complete the course in under eight hours.
Lodging is available at the Holiday Lake 4H camp with heated bunkhouses ($25 per bunk) and unheated cabins ($5 per person) that provide electric but are described as rustic. Tent and car camping adjacent to the start and finish is available for $10. Two hotels in Appomattox are noted as nearby options.
Event activities include a Friday evening pre-race briefing with pizza and a post-race lunch. Rabbit apparel sponsors finisher swag; 25K and 50K runners receive custom swag at check-in and a long sleeve Rabbit EZ-Tee at the finish. Training runs are scheduled on 12/19/26, 1/16/27, and 1/30/27 with meeting at the 4H camp; water and snacks are provided at mile 8. Registration opens October 1, 2026.
