Course and format

Courses use rolling desert single-track with both fast smooth sections and more mountainous sections. Routes include the Escondido, Cinch, Scenic ridge, and Shallmo trails, arranged as long and short loops that join on the Shallmo Trail. The 50K has a stated time limit of 10 hours; other distances have overall cutoffs set by the event.

Aid stations, crew and pacers

A fully stocked aid station is located at the start/finish, with one fully stocked remote aid station (Escondido) and a water-only station (Pemberton) on the long loop. Aid offerings include water, ice, electrolyte drinks, snacks, fruit, sandwiches, and some hot food. The race is cupless; runners must bring a reusable cup or purchase one onsite. Crews are allowed at the start/finish. Pacers are permitted only for the 50K and only beginning on the fourth loop.

Services and logistics

Chip timing, finish-line photos, branded race goody, finisher award, podiums for top finishers, live split tracking, medical staff on site, parking subject to park entry fee, no on-course pets, and nearby campground sites with RV hookups are all provided.
