Event Overview
The Adrenaline Night Runs take place at McDowell Mountain Regional Park in Fountain Hills, Arizona. As part of the Insomniac Night Trail Run Series, this event features single-track desert trails that include rolling sections, fast smooth segments, and mountainous terrain. Participants travel along the Escondido, Cinch, and Scenic ridge trails, with all courses eventually joining the Shallmo Trail for the return.
The event offers several course distances to accommodate different experience levels:
- 50K (approximately 30.5 miles with 2,163 feet of elevation gain)
- 25K (approximately 15.2 miles with 1,077 feet of elevation gain)
- 15K (approximately 9.3 miles with 644 feet of elevation gain)
- 10K (approximately 5.9 miles with 432 feet of elevation gain)
- 6K (approximately 4.1 miles with 208 feet of elevation gain)
Practical Information
This is a cupless race, meaning athletes must bring their own reusable hydration containers. Aid stations along the course, such as the Escondido and Pemberton stations, provide water, electrolyte drinks, ice, and various snacks including fruit and hot food like quesadillas. Drop bags are permitted at the start/finish area for easy access between loops.
The course is marked with orange plastic ribbons with black polka dots and reflective medallions for visibility at night. Medical staff from MedStar Solutions are stationed at the event headquarters to provide first aid. For those wishing to stay overnight, the park provides 76 individual camping sites with hook-ups. There is a vehicle entry fee for the park.
Participant Perks
Registered runners receive a branded race item and an Artworx finisher award. Results are chip-timed, and finish line photos are provided. Top three male and female finishers in each category are recognized on the podium. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
