McDowell Mountain Frenzy Trail Runs
McDowell Mountain Frenzy is a trail running event held on December 5, 2026 at McDowell Mountain Regional Park in Fountain Hills, AZ. The event offers multiple distances on Sonoran Desert single track that wind through the park and briefly enter the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. Courses include winding single track, short steep climbs and drops, and longer climbs that reach Thompson Peak on the 50 mile route.

- 50 Mile (50.1 miles)
- 50K (30.8 miles)
- 25K (15.3 miles)
- 10 Mile (10 miles)
- 5 Mile (5.2 miles)
Race features include chip timing with finish-line results, well stocked aid stations placed approximately every 3 to 10.5 miles, finisher awards, and awards to the top three male and female finishers at each distance. Crews are allowed at the start/finish headquarters only; pacers are permitted for 50 mile runners on the final loop only. Drop bags are allowed at specified aid stations for longer distances and will be returned to the finish as stations break down. Courses are marked with orange ribbons with black polka dots, reflective medallions, laminated signs, and checkerboard flagging for wrong-way trails.
Additional onsite services include medical staff at the start/finish headquarters, live split tracking, a charity beer garden, and camping options within the regional park. Park entry requires a fee per vehicle. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
