Event Overview
The McDowell Mountain Frenzy is a trail running event held at McDowell Mountain Regional Park in Fountain Hills, Arizona. It is part of the Desert Runner Trail Series. The event offers five different race distances.

The courses use desert single-track trails that wind through the park. The 50K route is a single loop that briefly enters the McDowell Sonoran Preserve in Scottsdale. The 50-mile course includes climbs to Thompson Peak, which offers views of the area. The shorter distances (5 Mile, 10 Mile, 25K) take place on the winding trails of the park's Competitive Track. Distances may vary slightly from year to year due to permitting.
Event Features
Aid stations are located every 3 to 10.5 miles along the courses. The event is chip-timed, and live tracking is available during the race. Post-race food includes items like bagels and fruit. There is a charity beer garden, with proceeds supporting trail maintenance organizations. All finishers receive an award.
Additional Information
Participants receive a gender-specific race shirt if ordered by a specified deadline. Parking is available at the Competitive Track parking lot, with an overflow area across the street. The park charges a vehicle entry fee. Camping is available at the park's campgrounds. The event has a cupless policy to reduce waste.
