Event overview
This is the inaugural Apple Valley Desert Rock and Road event, held at Civic Center Park, 14999 Dale Evans Parkway, Apple Valley, CA 92307. The event includes three distances and is organized as a community run/walk with marked courses, multiple aid stations, and volunteer support. Every participant receives a commemorative medal.
Race distances and fees
- Half Marathon : fee listed at about $95.
- 10K : fee listed at about $60.
- 5K : fee listed at about $50.
The 10K is restricted to running or jogging. The 5K allows running, jogging, or walking.
Course and rules
The courses run through parts of Apple Valley and are described as scenic. The half marathon has a final time limit of 3.5 hours and a mid-race cutoff at mile 7 (1 hour 55 minutes). The listed effective pace for these limits is about 16:01 per mile. Organizers recommend that participants under age 16 be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who is also registered.
