Apple Valley Reverse Triathlon
The Apple Valley Reverse Triathlon is a multisport event held at Civic Center Park and the Aquatic Center in Apple Valley, California. The main triathlon event follows a reverse format, meaning participants complete the running segment first before moving to the cycling and swimming portions. All timed events utilize chip timing for performance tracking.
Available distances and event formats include:
- Reverse Triathlon: 5 km run, 12 mile road bike course, and 150 yard pool swim.
- Kids Triathlon: 1 km run, 1 mile bike ride, and 50 yard swim.
- 5K Run: A stand-alone 5 km running event.
The cycling portion of the triathlon takes place on a road course. Participants must wear helmets for the bike segment, and motorized e-bikes are prohibited. For the swim portion, athletes are required to wear proper swim attire for the pool session.
Awards are provided for the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three in each age division for the triathlon and the top three male and female finishers in the 5K event. Participants in the Kids Triathlon, designed for children aged 5 to 12, receive participation medals and T-shirts. Triathlon participants also receive a T-shirt and a finisher medal.
