Apocalypse Ultramarathon, Church Stretton
The Apocalypse Ultra takes place on May 8, 2027, in Church Stretton, Shropshire. The event uses four completely different loops named Conquest, War, Death and Famine. Each loop has its own distance and ascent; together they add up to 50 miles. Participants may choose to complete one, two, three or all four loops and may run or walk the loops in any order and in any direction. Combinations include distances from 10 miles up to 50 miles. If all four loops are completed the total climb and descent exceed 10,000 ft. There is a 16 hour time limit for all four loops.
All activity is based from a single central HQ in Church Stretton. HQ provides a rolling 16 hour buffet of hot and cold food and drink during the event.
Distances and elevations for each loop:
- Conquest - 9.5 miles, 710 m elevation
- War - 13.3 miles, 673 m elevation
- Death - 11.6 miles, 753 m elevation
- Famine - 15.45 miles, 751 m elevation (no food or water stops)
Entry fee is £44. The event is limited to 125 places. Included services and options: GPS tracker hire, RFID timing with RaceResult, medical care, hot and cold food at HQ, awards for first to third, and an optional medal for £7 that combines from five pieces if all four loops are completed. Entries go on sale on November 20, 2026 at midday. Transfers within the event are allowed up to one week before the event; refunds are only given if the organiser cancels.
