Event overview
The Apocalypse Ultramarathon takes place on 9 May 2026 in Church Stretton, Shropshire (St Laurence's Church Stretton, SY6 6DQ). The event offers distances from 10 to 50 miles by combining up to four separate loops. Entry fee is £44. The event is limited to 125 participants and entries are currently full. Minimum age is 18. The organiser’s entry policy states no refunds, deferrals, or transfers except by transferring a place to another person up to one week before the event; refunds are only given if the organiser cancels the event.
Course and logistics
The course is made up of four named loops that can be completed in any order and in either direction. Completing all four loops totals about 50 miles and involves more than 10,000 ft of ascent and descent. The four loops are:
- Conquest: 9.5 miles, 710 m elevation
- War: 13.3 miles, 673 m elevation
- Death: 11.6 miles, 753 m elevation
- Famine: 15.45 miles, 751 m elevation
All activity is based at a single central HQ in Church Stretton. There is a 16-hour time limit for completing all four loops. On-site services include a rolling 16-hour buffet of hot and cold food, RFID timing, optional GPS tracker hire, medical cover, and awards for the first three finishers.
