Event overview
The Apocalypse Ultramarathon takes place on 9 May 2026 in Church Stretton, Shropshire (St Laurence's Church Stretton, SY6 6DQ). The event offers multiple distance options from 10 to 50 miles. Participants may choose to complete one, two, three or all four loops. The overall event has a 16-hour time limit for completing all four loops. Entry is limited to 125 places, minimum age 18, and the standard entry fee is £44.
Course and services
The route is made of four distinct loops that can be run or walked in any order and in either direction. Loop distances and elevation:
- Conquest : 9.5 miles, 710 m elevation
- War : 13.3 miles, 673 m elevation
- Death : 11.6 miles, 753 m elevation
- Famine : 15.45 miles, 751 m elevation
Completing all four loops involves more than 10,000 ft of ascent and descent. Central race headquarters are in Church Stretton and provide a rolling 16-hour buffet of hot and cold food. Timing uses RFID with a RaceResult system and GPS tracker hire is available. Medical cover is provided and awards are given for first, second and third places. An optional medal set is available for £7; the set combines into one if all four loops are completed. Registration is at St Laurence's Parish Hall in Church Stretton.
