Apex Hispanic Heritage 5K
The Apex Hispanic Heritage 5K takes place at the Bell Tower Shops in Fort Myers, Florida. This event marks the second year of the race, which focuses on celebrating Hispanic culture, diversity, and fitness within the Southwest Florida community. Participants have the opportunity to represent specific countries during the registration process to honor their heritage or a culture of their choice.
The event contains the following distances:
- 5K chip-timed race
- 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk
The race environment features a live DJ and an MC to provide entertainment throughout the morning. Participants are encouraged to wear themed outfits and carry flags to represent different cultures. Following the running events, a Latin Couples Dance Competition is held for registered runners, focusing on social participation and themed entertainment.
All registered participants receive an official race shirt and a custom finisher medal. Awards are presented after the dance competition to the top three male and female finishers overall based on gun time. Additionally, awards are provided to the top three male and female finishers in various age categories, ranging from 0-10 to 70+, based on chip timing.
