McIntosh 10K

Event overview

The McIntosh 10K is a trail race held on October 25, 2025, near Halifax, Nova Scotia. The event is organized by All Out Trail Racing and takes place on the McIntosh Run Single Track trail system. The race is chip timed and uses three staggered start waves, five minutes apart; runners choose a wave based on expected finish time (Wave 1: under 1 hour, Wave 2: 1:00–1:15, Wave 3: over 1:15). Registration price listed is $45.91 and includes a $3 trail donation; the listed registration period runs from September 5 to October 16. There are no refunds, but registrations may be transferred to another person until October 16 for a $1.95 transfer fee plus processing.

Course and logistics

The course is a single 10 km loop run entirely on trail. Trails are primarily hard-surfaced granite with roots and rocks and include twists, turns, and views of Halifax Harbour and Flat Lake. The trail area was damaged by a past forest fire. Organizers state the race will proceed in most weather conditions and recommend traction aids (slip-on spikes, studded shoes, sand) if the course is icy or snowy. Prizing is planned for 10 km podium finishers and winners in the 50+ categories, plus door prizes. The McIntosh Run Watershed Association has developed over 27 km of singletrack since 2016 and has approval for a Phase 2 adding 16 km of new trail.
