About the race
The Antwerpse Kempentrail is a non-competitive walking event through the Voorkempen, the green area between the agglomeration of Antwerp and the Kempen. Routes pass through several nature areas, including the Kesselse Heide, nature reserve Viersels Gebroekt, the Binnenbos, Natuurgebied De Lovenhoek and the Zoerselbos.
There are four distance options:
- 55 km
- 35 km
- 25 km
- 15 km
The start and finish are located at Evenementenhal Den Boomgaard, Antwerpsesteenweg 43, 2520 Ranst. Participation is possible only via pre-registration; on-site registration is not available. Each distance has its own start moment.
The participation package includes a participation badge, a waymarked route, warm coffee or tea with a breakfast cake at the start, generous refreshment and rest points along the route, sanitary facilities, an EHBO post at the finish, a finisher medal and access to an après-walk bar. Non-members receive a one-year Wandelsport Vlaanderen membership as part of registration.
The organisation provides wide on-route support but does not guarantee special dietary options such as gluten-free or lactose-free products. The longest distance requires reflective clothing and/or a head or chest lamp. There is no time registration; the event is non-competitive. One euro of each entry fee is allocated to nature and nature experience. Professional photos are taken during the event and may be used for promotional purposes.
