Antonine Trail 10k
The Kirkintilloch Olympians present the inaugural Antonine Trail 10 km trail race on 01 November 2026, starting and finishing in Twechar. The organisers have retained the majority of the original ATRX 10k course layout, with a revised start and finish at Twechar, and describe a route with many ups and downs.
The course begins on Colliery Green, Twechar, and goes up Barrhill to a section of the Antonine fort before crossing into Croy. Runners then climb Mount Cookie and Croy Hill, with views across the Kilsyth hills, descend a sharp descent to a road crossing, and return to Twechar via trails through Creekie Wood.
Race administration: number and chip pickup is available from 08:00 at Twechar Outdoor Pursuits Centre, 15 Canal Row, Main Street, Twechar G65 9DT. Toilets, showers and changing areas are provided and there is space to leave belongings at the participant's own risk. The race is chip timed and chips are collected alongside race numbers.
Entries and conditions: entry fees are £15 for SAL registered athletes and £18 for others; there is no entry on the day. The field is limited to 150 runners. Prizes in cash or vouchers will be awarded for first to third male and female finishers and age group prizes will be posted. Results will be lodged on the club website, the race Facebook page and SAL/Power of 10 sites. The event is SA licensed and held under UKA rules.
