Event Overview
The Antioch Rotary Club Bunny Hop 5K is a community sports event held annually the day before Easter. The event includes two primary distances:
- 5K Run/Walk/Hop
- 50 Yards (Kid's Kwik Dash)
The 5K course is located within the Corteva Agrisciences Wetlands. The route consists of a flat track made of packed dirt, gravel, and grass paths. Due to the nature of the terrain and existing barriers, the use of strollers or wagons is not recommended. For safety reasons, dogs are not permitted on the course. The 50 Yards dash is a free event specifically designed for children under five years of age and takes place in the parking lot area of the Antioch Marina.
Venue and Logistics
The event is centered at the Antioch Marina. Participants should note that the start line for the 5K is situated approximately 3/4 mile from the marina parking area, requiring a 20 to 30 minute walk through the wetlands. The race utilizes electronic timing with sensors placed at the start and finish lines. No bag drop services are available at the site.
Amenities and Community
Water and snacks are provided at the finish line, followed by a festival at the Antioch Marina featuring sponsor booths and an Easter egg hunt. The Rotary Club of the Delta provides a complimentary pancake breakfast for attendees. Participants who register by the mid-March deadline receive a commemorative shirt, and all finishers are awarded a medal.
This event is organized by the Rotary Club of Antioch, a non-profit volunteer organization. Proceeds from the race support local high school scholarships and campus programs, including music and cheer organizations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
