Annie Oakley Buffalo Bill Triathlon & AquaBike
The event takes place at Poplar Tree Lake in Meeman Shelby Forest State Park in Millington, Tennessee on June 6, 2026. Multiple multi-sport formats are offered on that day at the park shoreline and surrounding roads.
Event distances include:
- Super Sprint Triathlon: 13K
- Sprint Triathlon: 25K
- Olympic Triathlon: 51K
- Super Sprint AquaBike: 10K
- Sprint AquaBike: 20K
- Olympic AquaBike: 40K
- Sprint Duathlon: 30K
Packet pickup and course preview are scheduled in the days before the event and on race morning at the site. One packet pickup session is listed at Bikes Plus in Germantown with an on site packet pickup window on race morning.
The transition area is on the grassy area near the Nature Center at Poplar Tree Lake. Athletes self mark body numbers with a black permanent marker and pick up timing chips at the transition area, presenting their bib to receive a chip.
Participants receive a custom tee and a finisher medal, and on-site food includes hamburger and hot dog lunch with watermelon, chocolate milk and ice cream plus lemonade. There is a sponsor prize drawing for a Giant bike and bike gear; participants must be present to win. Water is available at each mile of the run course and at the finish line. Wetsuit rentals are available for the event. The event will proceed in sun, clouds, or rain but may be delayed for lightning and no refunds are provided for cancellations.
