Angry Tortoise 25K/50K : Bryceville, FL (Cary State Forest)
The 14th anniversary edition of the Angry Tortoise trail run takes place in Cary State Forest on the outskirts of Jacksonville, at 7465 Pavilion Rd, Bryceville, FL. The event offers two distances:
- 25K
- 50K
The course runs on forest roads through flatwoods and includes well-supported aid stations. Both distances have a generous eight hour cut-off, allowing participants ample time to complete the course. The site near the start/finish area includes male and female restrooms with a free hot shower.
Awards are given for first, second and third overall male and female, and age-group awards are offered for masters (40-49), grandmasters (50-69) and senior grandmasters (70 and over) in both the 25K and 50K races. Runners receive a race shirt and finisher awards; shirt size is not guaranteed for registrations after 12:00 pm on February 1, 2026, though additional shirts are ordered and organizers will try to accommodate size requests.
Lunch is provided after the race. Proceeds from the event support the Florida Striders Kids' Running Programs. A course map and a race video are available for reference. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
