The event offers three race formats:

Course & Location
The in-person races take place in Calverton, New York. The course is described as a "fast and flat run" on an airport runway at EPCAL Park. Participants have the unique opportunity to run or walk the runway. The event is chip-timed. Jogging strollers are welcome.
Purpose & History
This is the 5th annual Andrew's Top Gun Run. It is hosted by the Suffolk County Council of Boy Scouts of America and the Andrew McMorris Foundation. The event raises funds for scholarships and "scouterships." It honors Andrew McMorris, a 12-year-old scout who passed away in 2018.
Registration & Fees
Registration fees are listed as:
- 5K: $30 (with an event shirt guaranteed for registrations by March 18)
- Fun Run: $15 (with an event shirt guaranteed for registrations by March 18)
- Virtual 5K: $30 (with an event shirt guaranteed for registrations by March 18; virtual runners are not eligible for awards).
After 11:00 AM on the Friday before the race, registration is only available on-site. On-site registration opens at 7:30 AM on race day. There is also a pre-registration packet pick-up on the runway the night before from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Amenities & Awards
All finishers receive refreshments. T-shirts are guaranteed for participants who register by March 18. The 5K awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, and the top three males and females in numerous age groups, starting from 1-10 up to 85+. The Fun Run is open to children 12 and under and offers a special prize for participants. Results are posted online after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
