Andrea Holden Thanksgiving 5K Road Race
The Andrea Holden Thanksgiving 5K Road Race is an annual community benefit run and walk held in Dennis, Massachusetts. The event takes place at The Dennis Inn on Scarsdale Road on the Saturday after Thanksgiving and is presented by a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that supports health and wellness programs for children in the local community.
The race honors the memory of Andrea Holden, a second grader at Ezra Baker School who died on November 27, 1990. This edition marks the 25th anniversary of the event. The course begins at The Dennis Inn and parking is available at the Dennis Playhouse. A course map and race results are maintained by the organizers.
Participants receive long sleeve cotton shirts this year. Available sizes include Youth large; Women’s small, medium, large; and Men’s medium, large, X-large, XX-large. Local businesses and individuals support the race through sponsorships at several levels. Options range from a road sign with a business name along the route for a $100 donation to larger shirt logo placements and combinations with road signs for higher donation levels; a gold level at $1000 or more includes a large logo on the shirt, a road sign, and five registrations.
