Anderson 5k Run/Walk - Dayton, OH
The Anderson 5k Run/Walk is a community road event held in Dayton on September 26, 2026. The one-distance event is a 5k and is organized at the Vandalia Rec Center, 1111 Stonequarry Rd, Dayton, OH 45414. Dogs are not permitted at the venue.
The event was created to raise funds for a scholarship program that provides awards to graduating Vandalia Butler High School seniors. It was established after a violent incident in Butler Township on 8/5/22 that affected the local community and led to community support and the creation of the scholarship fund.
Participants receive water and a granola bar, and there is a chance to win door prizes. Registration pricing and shirt availability vary by registration date: early registration offers adult and student pricing with a shirt included if registered by September 16, 2026; later registration periods list a flat fee with shirts not guaranteed, and a higher fee applies on race day. A separate shirt-only pickup option is available.
Awards are given to the top overall male and female runners and to top males and females in standard age groups including 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
