Amherst Skeleton Run
The Amherst Skeleton Run is scheduled for October 25, 2026 at Amherst Steele High School in Amherst, Ohio. The event includes a main 5K road race plus short fun runs for elementary and middle school participants. Proceeds benefit RUNAMHERST.com and the event is organized by Hermes Sports and Events.
Distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 1/4 mile Silly Run for K–5th grade
- 1/2 mile Funny Run for 6th–8th grade
Registration notes: 5K pre-registration is listed at $30 with a higher day-of fee; the youth runs are free. Youth runners in the RunAmherst Little Comets Running Club are registered for the youth races and need not register for those events unless they wish to purchase a shirt or enter the 5K. Mailed pre-registered entries must be received by October 16, 2026; checks are made payable to Hermes Sports and Events.
Event services and amenities include chip timing for 5K participants, participation medals, shirts and stocking hats with availability options, post-race food and drinks, and separate dog and stroller divisions. Walkers are welcome. Awards are presented to top men and women overall, Masters (40 and over), top three dog and stroller runners, and the top three in each age group for the 5K across the listed age categories.
