About the race
The Amherst Skeleton Run is a community running event held in Amherst, Ohio at Amherst Steele High School on October 25, 2026. The program includes adult and youth races, awards, and post-race amenities.
Distances included
- 5K Run - 3.1 miles
- 1/4 Mile Silly Run - K through 5th grade
- 1/2 Mile Funny Run - 6th through 8th grade
Registration and fees are specified for each race. Pre-registration for the 5K is listed at $30 with a higher day of race fee; the youth 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile runs are free. All mailed pre-registered entries must be received by Friday, October 16, 2026, and checks are to be made payable to Hermes Sports and Events. Youth club members do not have to register for the 400/800 youth runs unless they wish to run the 5K or purchase a shirt.
Chip timing is provided for 5K participants. The event offers participation medals, options for synthetic or cotton shirts and a stocking hat (cotton option available through October 1; synthetic shirts while supplies last or stocking hat thereafter), post-race food and drinks, and separate dog and stroller divisions. Walkers are welcome. Awards include top men and women overall, masters 40 and over, top three dog and stroller finishers, and top three men and women across a range of age groups from 7 & under through 80 & over.
