Amherst Skeleton Run
The Amherst Skeleton Run is scheduled for October 25, 2026 at Amherst Steele High School, 450 Washington Ave, Amherst, Ohio. The event includes a main chip timed 5K and separate short youth runs for elementary and middle school age groups. Proceeds benefit RUNAMHERST.com.
Event distances include:
- 5K Run: 3.1 Miles
- 1/4 Mile Silly Run: K through 5th grade
- 1/2 Mile Funny Run: 6th through 8th grade
Registration and entry notes: pre-registration for the 5K opens May 5 and mailed pre-registered entries must be received by October 16, 2026. The 5K has a pre-registration fee of $30 and a day of race fee of $35. The youth quarter mile and half mile races are free; RunAmherst Little Comets club members are registered through their club unless they want a shirt or to enter the 5K. Shirts can be picked up in the main gym before race day cutoff times.
What participants receive and event features include participation medals, a choice of synthetic or cotton shirt or a stocking hat (cotton option available through October 1), post-race food and drinks, dog and stroller divisions, and awards for overall, masters, and age group winners. Chip timing applies to 5K participants. Mailed entries are to be sent to Hermes Sports and Events in Cleveland. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
