Amesbury Days 5K & 1 Mile
The Amesbury Days 5K & 1 Mile is a community running event hosted by the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce. Held at Heritage Park in the Lower Millyard, the event features two distinct distances for participants:
- 5K
- 1 Mile
The 5K course is a revised route that has removed a major hill climb and updated the finish area. It includes one water station located at approximately 1.8 miles where the course joins the Amesbury Riverwalk Rail Trail. The 1 Mile race follows an abridged version of the same route. Both events use bib chip timing to record participant results.
The course is open to a variety of participants, including walkers. Strollers and leashed dogs are also permitted on the route. Registration includes a custom race bib, a short sleeve shirt, and a digital finisher certificate.
A post-race gathering takes place at Heritage Park, featuring music from local artists, technical sponsors, and food vendors. Amenities include lawn games and face painting for children. Participants over the age of 21 receive one complimentary beverage, which can be redeemed at the race site or at selected local restaurant locations on the day of the event. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top non-binary finisher and winners in age groups ranging from 15-under to 90+.
Ample parking is available in lots near the start line on Water Street, at the Bartley Machine lot, and on Oakland Street. A bag drop service is provided near the registration tent for those who do not arrive by personal vehicle. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
