Seize the Day: Amer’s Epilepsy Trail Run : 5th Annual

Seize the Day: Amer’s Epilepsy Trail Run is scheduled for August 2, 2026 at Mendon Ponds Park. The event includes trail distances for runners, walkers, and hikers; dogs on leash are permitted.

Distances offered:

  • 10K
  • 5K
  • One-Mile Fun Run

All courses are on trails rather than pavement. The 5K and 10K start and finish at the North Meadow Trailhead on Canfield Road, between Douglas Road and Pittsford-Mendon Center Road. The one-mile course begins across the street from the main tent and follows the Pine Woods trail. Water stations are available on both the 5K and 10K courses; each station carries basic first aid supplies and EMTs are stationed at the main tent.

Race logistics note that race bibs and packets are picked up on race day only; there is no pre-race packet pick up. Parking is available on either side of the road near the trailhead. The 5K and 10K have male and female age groups of 16 and under, 17 to 25, and 26 and older. One-mile participants under age 14 receive an award. Entry fees listed for the event are $35 for the 5K and 10K and $10 for the one-mile.

The races run rain or shine except in cases of thunder or lightning. Proceeds support epilepsy programs and services for children and adults in Upstate and Central New York. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
