The American River Parkway Half Marathon is an annual spring running event held in the Sacramento region. The 2026 edition marks the 18th year of this race, which takes place on a flat, fast, and shaded course. The route travels through the American River Parkway, passing through old-growth Oak forests, meadows, and riparian habitats.

The half marathon course for runners includes six aid stations, while the walkers' course includes eight stations. These stations provide water and Gatorade. The event also features live bands located along both courses for entertainment.
Amenities and Support
Participants in the half marathon receive a tech race shirt and a finisher medal. Following the race, a post-race lunch is provided along with beverages including beer and wine. Free race photos are also available to participants. For the 1k Kids' Otter Dash, children receive a specific tech shirt, their own medal, post-race lunch, and free photos. Parents are permitted to accompany their children during the dash at no extra cost.
Beneficiary Information
The event serves as a fundraiser where 100% of proceeds are donated to the Parkway Fund. These contributions support habitat restoration, invasive plant removal, trash cleanup, and the installation of drinking fountains along the American River Parkway.
