About the race
The American River Parkway Half Marathon is the 19th annual community race held April 24, 2027 at William B Pond Recreational Area in Carmichael, California. The event has a long history along the American River Parkway and has donated over $400,000 in proceeds to Parkway projects and enhancements.

The event uses two separate courses, one for runners and one for walkers. Both courses are described as flat, fast, and shady and travel along the American River Parkway through old-growth oak forest, green meadows, and riparian habitat. Aid stations are provided on course with ice-cold water and Gatorade; there are eight aid stations on the runner course and nine on the walker course.
Live entertainment is provided along the route, including over a dozen bands and a bag pipe processional to start. Finishers receive a personalized medal and a bottle of ice-cold water, and a post-race meal is offered featuring a meat or vegetarian Parkway Wrap, fresh fruit, and a cookie. Packet pickup is available at Fleet Feet Sacramento in the days before the event and on race day.
