American River Parkway Half Marathon (April 24, 2027)
The 19th annual American River Parkway Half Marathon takes place at William B Pond Recreational Area in Carmichael, CA on April 24, 2027. The event has a long history of donating proceeds to benefit the American River Parkway and to date has donated over $400,000.
The event uses two separate courses, one for runners and one for walkers. Both courses are described as flat, fast, and shady and run along the American River Parkway through old-growth oak forests, green meadows, and riparian habitat. The runner course features eight aid stations and the walker course features nine aid stations; each aid station provides ice-cold water and Gatorade.
Entertainment and event features include a bag pipe processional at the start, more than a dozen live bands along the courses, and a Mariachi band in the finishers' area. Finishers receive a personalized medal and a bottle of ice-cold water and may have access to a lunch offering that includes a meat or veggie Parkway Wrap, fresh fruit, and a cookie.
Event options include in-person and virtual distances as well as a kids race. Packet pickup is available at Fleet Feet Sacramento in the days before the event and on race day.
