Overview
The Amber Room Run from the Sun is a fundraising event benefiting Ann’s Place, which provides free cancer support services. It takes place on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at The Amber Room Colonnade in Danbury, Connecticut.
Events
The event includes two options:
- A 5K run or walk.
- A Virtual 5K.
Course Details
The 5K course starts at the Amber Room and goes to Candlewood Lake and back. The route passes by scenic water views, stately homes, and lake communities.
After-Race Celebration
After the race, there is an outdoor barbecue, adult beverages, refreshments, and live music. An awards ceremony is also held. Participants can bring a picnic blanket or folding chair to enjoy the grounds.
Amenities and Awards
All participants receive a custom technical running t-shirt. Parking is available at The Amber Room Colonnade and across the street at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church. Awards are given to the top three finishers in multiple age divisions for men and women, and to the top three non-binary finishers.
Fundraising
The event is a fundraiser for Ann’s Place, with all proceeds supporting its free cancer support services. Participants who raise or donate $100 can receive a complimentary race entry.
