Amber Room Run from the Sun 5K
The event is a 5K road race with a virtual 5K option held on August 20, 2026, at the Amber Room Colonnade in Danbury, Connecticut. The event serves as a fundraiser for Ann's Place; all proceeds are directed to that organization to support its cancer support services, which are provided free of charge to community members in need.
Registration opens October 4, 2025 and closes August 16, 2026. The registration fee is $45. Fundraising is integrated into the event: participants may create individual or team fundraising pages, and those who raise $250 receive a participation medal. Teams have organized friendly competitions, created custom shirts, and raised funds in honor of others; a presenting sponsor, Waterworks, has coordinated team competitions and costume participation in past events.
An after-race celebration takes place on the Amber Room grounds and includes an outdoor barbecue, beer and other refreshments, a DJ, and an awards ceremony. Attendees are invited to bring picnic blankets or folding chairs to use on the grounds.
