The Alton 10 is a 10 mile event (10 miles / 16 km) held on a scenic, undulating circuit through Hampshire countryside and village lanes, finishing at Eggar's School on London Road, Holybourne, Alton GU34 4EQ. The route returns to the race headquarters and is described as rural with varied hills and open road sections.

Facilities at Race HQ include toilets, limited changing areas and showers, a supervised bag drop (runners are asked to label bags with their race number) and pre-race refreshments near the start. All finishers receive a medal. Trophies are awarded to the top three male and female finishers overall, with additional prizes for the listed veteran categories for men and women.

Entry pricing is tiered: an early bird fee applies before 2 March and a standard fee applies on or after 2 March, and an additional booking fee is charged on all entries. The event is open to entrants aged 17 and over on race day. The race operates under a UKA licence (UKA Licence No. #3048, Course No. 23/085). No dogs, wheeled vehicles or bicycle accompaniment are permitted, and the course is not wheelchair accessible. Entries are not accepted on race day; participants must register in advance.
