Alston Gala Fell Race 50th Anniversary
The Alston Gala Fell Race marks its 50th anniversary with the return of the routed race from Alston playing field to Park Fell and back. The course covers 6.2 km (3.9 miles) with approximately 211 m (692 ft) of climb. The venue is Alston playing field in the North Pennines, England.
All entry fees are given to the local mountain rescue team, who will also be marshalling the course. Entry fees listed are £3.00 for FRA members and £5.00 for non members; entry on the day is allowed for an additional £2.00. Minimum age for entry is 18 on the day of the event.
Entries open 1 December 2025 and close 26 June 2026. The start line is at the north end of the playing field. The event is described as a routed fell race that departs from and returns to the playing field via Park Fell, and it is scheduled for 27 June 2026.
