Alpine Solstice : Bend, Oregon
Alpine Solstice is an early summer trail event held in the Cascade Range near Bend, Oregon on June 20, 2026. The course uses classic Bend single-track trails through the Deschutes National Forest and along Cascade Lakes Highway. The event takes place near Swampy Lakes Sno Park and includes running by Tumalo Falls on the longer course.
Distances
- 55K - 4 aid stations; 4000 ft gain and loss; 90% single-track.
- Half Marathon - 1300 ft elevation gain; one aid station at mile 9.5; mostly non-technical.
The 55K course features roughly 4000 feet of elevation gain and 4000 feet of descent, with about 90 percent single-track and four fully stocked aid stations. The 55K route includes a section past Tumalo Falls and has an established time limit for completion. The half marathon follows flowing single-track near Cascade Lakes Highway, is mostly non-technical, and includes one aid station offering water, electrolytes, soda, gels, and snack items.
The event is held on multi-use trails that remain open to other users. Dogs are not permitted to run with participants. The event is cupless so runners should bring a cup or bottle for aid stations. Registration includes tiered fees and a shirt-size guarantee date. The race supports a youth cross country and track team and operates under a special use permit with Ochoco National Forest.
