Event Overview
The Alpine Races is a multi-event race taking place on August 16, 2026. It is presented by the Alpine Runners of Lake Zurich and this edition is the 46th annual event.
Location and Course
The event is based at Breezewald Park in Lake Zurich, Illinois. The courses run through the streets and along the shores of Lake Zurich. Both the 5k and 10-mile courses are USATF certified.
Available Events
The event includes several distances:
- 10 Mile Run for adults (15 and over)
- Adult 5k Run/Walk
- Youth 5k Run/Walk (14 and under)
- Youth Mile (14 and under)
- Kids Fun Runs (½ mile, ¼ mile, or 100-yard dash)
Event Details
Gatorade and water will be available along the course. Dogs, strollers, bikes, and rollerblades are not permitted. The 10 Mile Run is designated as the 2026 Illinois RRCA Championship 10 Mile and is part of the 2026 CARA Racing Circuit.
The organizing policy states that no refunds or deferrals will be issued for registrations made online, by mail, or on race weekend. Volunteers are sought for tasks including packet pickup, water stops, and finish line support. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
