Alpine Races 5k and 10 Mile : Lake Zurich, IL
The 46th Annual Alpine Races take place at Breezewald Park in Lake Zurich, Illinois. The 5k and 10-mile courses are USATF certified and run through local streets and along the shores of Lake Zurich. Gatorade and water will be available along the course. Dogs, strollers, bicycles, and rollerblades are not allowed in the races.
Event formats include the following distances:
- 10 Mile
- Adult 5k (3.1 Miles)
- Youth 5k (3.1 Miles)
- Youth Mile (1 Mile)
- Kids Fun Runs
Registration opens January 16, 2026; fees vary by event (for example, the 10 Mile is $59.99, Adult 5k $39.99, Youth 5k $20.00, Youth Mile $15.00, Kids Fun Runs $5.00). The organizer does not issue refunds or deferments for registrations made online, by mail, or on race weekend. The course time limit is three hours.
The Alpine Runners 10 Mile is part of the 2026 CARA Racing Circuit. The event is scheduled to proceed rain or shine; in the case of lightning or severe weather the races may be delayed or canceled and organizers will provide pre-event updates and day-of announcements. Volunteers support packet pickup, water stops, and the finish line. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
