Alexandra's Rip Current Awareness 5K - Southampton
The Alexandra's Rip Current Awareness 5K is a road race hosted at the Southampton Cultural Center, 25 Pond Lane, Southampton, NY. The distance is 5K (3.1 miles) and the course is USA Track and Field certified. The route runs through tree-lined residential streets around Lake Agawam and is described as fast and flat. Splits and water are available at every mile.
Event amenities include medals for the first 175 finishers, T-shirts guaranteed to online registrants before May 16, a DJ, over 25 raffle baskets including grand prize items and signed islander memorabilia, live text and email results, free finish line photos, and personalized bibs for runners who register three weeks in advance. The event notes a post-race gathering at Shippy’s, which offers a 15% discount for participants.
Awards recognize top finishers as follows: top three male and female overall, top male and female masters overall, and top three male and female in age groups ranging from 10 and under through 85 and over.
Bib numbers are available via bib lookup before pickup. Early packet pickup is listed for June 5 at Lobster Roll "LUNCH" Restaurant, 32 Montauk Hwy, Southampton, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Race day packet pickup is at Agawam Park with a self lookup area for those who do not know their bib number.
