Alana's Eternal Light 5K
The event is a 5K running race held on August 22, 2026 at CrossWind Community Church in Genoa, Illinois. The course leaves and returns to the church, runs through the honoree's neighborhood passing her home, and follows her bus route before finishing back at the church. The event was created to mark what would have been the honoree's 16th birthday and to support a scholarship fund and related activities important to her. The organizing effort grew from a family decision to establish Alana's Wings of Hope to provide scholarships and assist other families affected by sudden and tragic losses.
