Alan Jones Vestal XX
The Alan Jones Vestal XX is a long-standing road race held in Vestal, New York. Established as the oldest road race in the Southern Tier, the event is entering its 54th consecutive year. The course travels over the hilly terrain of the local area, starting and finishing in the parking lot of the Vestal Senior Center.
Participants can choose from the following event formats:
- 20 km single runner road race
- 10 km 2-person relay (each participant completes 10 km)
The event recognizes a wide range of performance categories. Awards are presented to the top three open men, top three open women, and top three open non-binary finishers. Following these overall winners, the next 27 participants receive prizes determined by age-graded results. Relay teams are also eligible for prizes in the male, female, and mixed/non-binary categories.
Participants who complete their registration by May 27th receive a finisher shirt. While the main event follows standard timing, an early start option is available for runners who anticipate a finishing time longer than two hours and 15 minutes. Individuals opting for the early start or participating in the relay are excluded from age-graded awards and the Vestal Honor Roll. Logistics and bib collection take place at the Vestal Senior Center on Main Street. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
