2026 Alamo Beer Challenge - Remember the Alamo...Beer!
The event is Race 1 of the Alamo Beer Series Challenge 2026, held on August 8, 2026, at the Tuscany wedding venue on Old Fredericksburg Road in San Antonio, TX. It is presented as a sequence of milestone training races that follow an 18 week training schedule for runners preparing for the San Antonio Rock and Roll Marathon and Half Marathon. Each event increases in distance over the series and every race includes a 5k option.
Available race options include:
- 13.1 Mile half marathon
- 10k
- 5k
- 0.05k fun run
- 5k Walk Only
- Half Marathon 3-person relay with three legs of 4.36 miles each
The relay has a single exchange point at Eisenhower Park Trailhead. Course maps and route details are provided for the half marathon, 10k, and 5k. A virtual entry option is available; virtual participants can request packet mailing for a fee that is presently listed as $12. Age group awards use chip time because starts occur in waves. Age categories span from 14 and under through 90 plus. Runners 16 and younger receive a 50 percent discount; a similar discount is noted for participants aged 70 and older.
