The Alamo Beer Challenge Race 1 of 4 takes place in San Antonio, TX, on August 8, 2026, at the Tuscany wedding venue on Old Fredericksburg Road. Relay specifics: the 3-person relay has one exchange point at Eisenhower Park trailhead (water stop 3); each leg is about 4.36 miles. Virtual entrants may complete their distance on their own; packet mailing is available for a fee (listed as $12 at present) and switching to virtual is preferred by the Thursday before the race.
Timing, awards and rules: chip timing is used and age-group awards are based on chip time because starts will occur in waves. Awards include first overall male and female, first overall masters male and female, and age-group awards for 1st through 4th. There are automatic 50% discounts for participants aged 16 and younger and for those 70 and older. The event has a no-refund policy; transfers incur fees and are not permitted after race day.
